Tracking tools
This document contains information about the technologies that allow this Application to achieve the purposes described below. Such technologies allow the Owner to collect and store information (for example through the use of Cookies) or to use resources (for example by running a script) on the User’s device when the User interacts with this Application. For simplicity, in this document such technologies are referred to collectively as “Tracking Tools”, unless there is a reason to differentiate.
For example, although Cookies can be used in both web and mobile browsers, it would be out of place to talk about Cookies in the context of mobile applications, since they are Tracking Tools that require a browser. For this reason, within this document the term Cookie is used only to refer specifically to that particular type of Tracking Tool.
Some of the purposes for which Tracking Tools are used may also require the User’s consent. Where consent is given, it may be freely withdrawn at any time by following the instructions in this document. This Application uses Tracking Tools managed directly by the Owner (commonly referred to as “first-party” Tracking Tools) and Tracking Tools that enable services provided by third parties (commonly referred to as “third-party” Tracking Tools). Unless otherwise specified in this document, such third parties have access to their respective Tracking Tools.
The duration and expiry of Cookies and other similar Tracking Tools may vary depending on the settings chosen by the Owner or by each third-party provider. Some of them expire at the end of the User’s browsing session. Users can find more detailed and up-to-date information on duration, as well as any other relevant information, in the privacy policies of the respective third-party providers or by contacting the Owner.
Activities strictly necessary for the operation and delivery of the Service
This Application uses so-called “technical” Cookies or other similar Tracking Tools to carry out activities that are strictly necessary to ensure the operation or delivery of the Service.
Other activities involving the use of Tracking Tools
Simple interactions and functionality: this Application uses Tracking Tools to allow simple interactions and to enable features that let Users access certain resources of the Service and that simplify communication with the Owner.
Contacting the User – Mailing list or newsletter: by registering for the mailing list or newsletter, the User’s email address is automatically added to a contact list to which email messages may be sent containing information, including of a commercial and promotional nature, concerning this Application. Personal Data processed: last name, email, first name, telephone number, profession and Tracking Tool.
Experience enhancement: this Application uses Tracking Tools to provide a personalised user experience, allowing better management of personal settings and interaction with external networks and platforms. Content-display services from external platforms allow content hosted on external platforms to be displayed directly from the pages of this Application, and may collect web traffic data about the pages where they are installed, even when users do not use them.
Measurement and statistics: this Application uses Tracking Tools to measure traffic and analyse User behaviour with the aim of improving the Service. Google Analytics (Google Ireland Limited) is a web analytics service that uses the Personal Data collected to track and examine the use of this Application, compile reports and share them with other services developed by Google. Personal Data processed: Usage Data and Tracking Tool. Place of processing: Ireland.
How to manage preferences and give or withdraw consent
Users can manage their preferences regarding Tracking Tools directly through their device settings, for example by preventing their use or storage. Whenever the use of Tracking Tools depends on consent, the User can give or withdraw such consent by setting their preferences within the cookie notice or through the tracking settings widget, where available. Browser or device features also allow previously stored Tracking Tools to be removed.
For third-party Tracking Tools, Users can manage their preferences and withdraw consent by visiting the relevant opt-out link (where available), by using the tools described in the third party’s privacy policy, or by contacting the third party directly. Instructions for managing Cookies are available for the most common browsers: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, Microsoft Edge, Brave and Opera.
